Well, 2026 is progressing, and I thought it would be a good opportunity to take a quick look back at what’s been achieved so far, as well as what’s to come!
Our best bits so far include County Day, held at Uckfield College in early March. We were really delighted to welcome Region Ambassador Abi Harvey to open the day for us. She spoke passionately and well about her job (space engineer), her Region Challenge pack and badge (Finding My Space), and what she has achieved and is still to come. She was inspiring to listen to, it was an absolute honour to welcome her to the County and hear her.
Subscriptions – well, I’d have loved to have had the whole County amounts paid by now, but there are one or two still unpaid. It does come back and affect us so if it’s you, please take the time to make the payment.
Several Awards nominations have been received already, and the list for the youth awards is growing as well – please don’t forget to add both your girls and your peers to the annual nominations so they come and celebrate with us.
And what is there to come? Well, by far the biggest and for me the most exciting is our international camp, Olave 2026. We’ve been planning this since 2021 really, so although it feels like it’s been a long time for us, it really is coming up very, very soon – 4 months to go! We still have lots to finalise, but the plans are really coming along nicely, and we’re looking forward to sharing all the latest with you at the next county briefing day on 16th May. I hope the image I’ve shared inspires you to get excited, and to remember just what Olave looks like – or gives you a sense of the overall site if you haven’t been before!
Of course, there’s lots more going on – but we don’t get to hear about it all. But we would like to, so please share your news here so others around the County can get to hear your ideas and plans, and be excited with you about what you’ve got coming up!
