Happy New Year. Hopefully you have all managed a peaceful, restful break over the festive period, and are now fully recharged and ready to go into what is already looking like an amazing year to come.
We already have a lot of trainings and events in the calendar, and are looking forward to adding more as we move through the year. I’m sure things are already in the planning stages (if not almost sorted!) for the huge milestone of the 100th Thinking Day in February. It is themed this year on ‘friendship’ and across the County a lot of us have many international connections – so I hope you will take the time to remember our guiding family locally and globally.
Also very exciting is the forthcoming opportunity for us to enable and empower the next generations into the joy of international experiences, with Olave 2026 now only 7 months away. I have absolutely no doubt that there is an awful lot of fundraising, planning and preparing going on pretty much everywhere as we all work towards making this a spectacular, memorable event for everyone involved. Keep looking and listening for more updates, and keep encouraging all girls and volunteers to join us for the experience.
Business as usual of course continues, and to everyone involved in all those weekly activities, events and meetings, thank you for all that you do. All contributions, no matter how big or small, are valued by the girls in our care, and your team, whoever that may include.
The County Senior Leadership Team looks forward to hearing about all your adventures, hopefully meeting you at some of them, and to enjoying guiding across our wonderful County.
All the very best for 2026 to you all – I look forward to seeing/meeting you during it somewhere!
Bev.
