Training Opportunities

All volunteers have access to the Learning Platform that contains a wide range of modules and training sessions to support your volunteering with Girlguiding. There are self-led module units and links to face to face sessions.

Safer Guiding and First Response – 2026

First Response and Safer Guiding dates for 2026 are now available, secure your place using the booking links below.  Please note that Safer Guiding is only for those aged 18 or over

Safer Guiding – Saturday 3rd October –
St Richards Church, Priory Road, Eastbourne, BN23 7AX
 
Available to book on the Learning Platform (Under ‘Training by area’ select London and SE England, then select the last tile ‘Safer guiding trainer-led’. Enrol on the course, then under the heading ‘available sessions: in person’ select the top option and then Sign up)

First Response – Saturday 14th November 
Please note that this course is currently fully booked.
If you need to book onto a First Response training, please contact ggsussexeasttraining@hotmail.com to be added to the waiting list and inform you of other First Response trainings in neighbouring counties
 
First Response and Safer guiding dates for 2027 are currently being confirmed.

Supporting Leaders in Training & Young Leaders

NEW Tuesday 20th October – Online Training – Supporting your Leader in Training in the unit

This is for unit volunteers looking to support a Leader in Training in their unit.

The training will include an overview of the Leadership Development Programme, and the role of the Mentor including Check ins.

There will also be the opportunity for a Q&A at the end of the training.
